On October 7, 2013, IGA Air terminal was established to build and work Istanbul Air terminal for a long time. In any case, the air terminal is under development on a region of 76.5 million square meters toward the north of Istanbul, 35 km away from the downtown area. When complete, the air terminal will host flights to in excess of 300 goals with a yearly limit of 200 million travelers.

Construction:

Until the official full site delivery by DHMI on May 1, 2015, they worked on the earthworks design throughout the year 2014. By utilizing the soil surveys conducted and performing approximately 600 drills. They had to perform more than 1,600 cone penetration tests at the construction site through temporary permissions. And finally, the first passenger terminal building will be the world’s largest terminal building under a single roof with an area of 1.44 million square meters. And hence as per statement it will initially serve 90 million passengers a year at this terminal. Moreover, the total investment of 300 million Euros is done to establish the largest equipment pool in Turkey that includes 3,022 pieces of equipment. And almost 36,000 employees including the subcontractors’ employees work at İGA.
